Pierson M. Walton, Civil War soldier affidavit, 1863.

The affidavit records the statements made by Pierson M. Walton on April 1, 1863, in which he states that certain equipment under the command of Captain Edward F. Roberts was worn out during service. The affidavit was sworn before Peter D. Vroom and signed by both parties.

Pierson M. Walton enlisted as a Private on June 3, 1861, becoming a member of the "H" Company of the New Jersey 1st Infantry. There he served first as a Corporal, then as a Sergeant, and finally as a 1st Sergeant, until he was discharged at Trenton, New Jersey on June 23, 1864. Peter D.
