William J. Moynihan was executive assistant to the president, then vice president and director, of the American Museum of Natural History, from 1988 to 1995. Moynihan had a background in educational administration and had spent 15 years at Colgate University when George Langdon, president of the AMNH, recruited him as his assisant to plan an upgrade of an exhibit of fossil mammals.
