Sheli Lulkin was a high school teacher with the Chicago Public Schools as well as a labor and women's rights activist. Lulkin was active in the leadership of the Chicago Teacher's Union until 1976 when she was asked to step down amid accusations that she was an informant for the Chicago Police Department's "Red Squad."
