The letters are three handwritten single sheets to unknown correspondents whom La Cépède addresses as Citoyen. In the second letter, dated 26 floréal (May 15), La Cépède acknowledges a box received containing a knife, locks, a portfolio, fabrics and lace, and family letters, and offers to send works on weights and measures. The third letter, dated 30 messidor (July 18), contains an acknowledgment of money received.
