Goelet, Robert G. (Robert Guestier), 1924-

Robert G. Goelet was a trustee of the American Museum of Natural History, 1966-1974, and its eighth (and last unsalaried) president, 1975-1988. At his retirement he became chairman of the Board of Trustees, then chairman emeritus. Goelet grew up and attended school in France, where one of his neighbors was Jean Delacour, research ornithologist at the AMNH.
