Edith Fowler Slocum photograph collection [graphic]. [1880s-1915]

Includes portraits of Edith Fowler when a child and young woman, and as student at the North Dakota Agricultural College. There are group imaes from the NDAC, and from Seaforth, Ontario. The North Dakota farming scenes are of threshing grain and the laborers. There is a series of railroad trestle construction images, likely taken in the Peru, Illinois area and likely related to Roy Slocum's work in civil engineering. There are also several postcards of scenes at Seaforth and Goderich, Ontario.

IEdith Fowler was born in 1879 at Seaforth, Ontario and moved with her parents to North Dakota in 1880. She graduated from the North Dakota Agricultural College in 1904, taught school and then obtained a master's degree from NDAC in 1909. She taught there until 1911. In 1910 she married Roy Slocum, a civil engineer insturctor at the NDAC. She both died in November 1956 at Fargo. From the description of Edith Fowler Slocum photograph collection [graphic].
