Letters, 1895-1898.

Letter (3 p.), Oct. 1895, encourages his work on his Lincoln biography and proposes that he write an article on "Lincoln as a lawyer" for McClure's. Letter, May 22, 1896, apologizes for her mistake re: a Lincoln speech in a previous article and explains her research and how she overlooked Weik's work on that speech. Letter, May 1898, extends sympathy for his bereavement, explains she cannot leave Washington because of the war and asks if he might do some interviews on reminiscences of Lincoln in Indianapolis for her.
