This collection is composed of four series: Correspondence, 1978-1990; American Association of Teachers of Slavic and Eastern European Languages (AATSEEL), 1983-1989; American Council of Teachers of Russian (ACTR), 1988-1991; and General Department Files, 1978-1991. The Correspondence files cover the time period from 1978-1990 and contain mainly letters and memos sent and received by Dr. Donald K. Jarvis. The AATSEEL and ACTR files are also letters and memos between the two corresponding organizations and the Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages, sent and received by Dr. Jarvis from 1988-1991. The General Department Files contain records of correspondence, general business, trips, funds, and research of the department between 1978 and 1991.
