Nitrate controlled burn tests [videorecording]. 1948, 1978, [ca. 1985]

There are three sections to the tape. The first, filmed May-August 1948, demonstrates the results of using various sprinkler systems in burning nitrate storage vaults. The second consists of a television news report on the 1978 fire at the National Archives nitrate storage vaults in Suitland, Maryland. The final section shows the Luxembourg Volunteer fire department demonstrating various types of fire suppression equipment, such as fire extinguishers, on small outdoor nitrate film fires.
