Books & persons / by Arnold Bennett. 1929.

One of a series of essays of that title. This essay was entitled "Holiday Book Dreams" and published July 25, 1929, in the Evening Standard. Mr. Bennett thinks that we usually get more reading done at home than we do on vacation, although when we think about a holiday we dream about all the reading we are going to do. He also gives three rules for choosing books to take on holiday: 1. Choose too many books. 2. Choose some books that you have read before. 3. Choose books you would enjoy reading rather than those you ought to read.
