The collection consists of five items, including: catalog for 1951 exhibition of Fritz Kredel and Hermann Zapf at the Cooper Union Museum for the Arts of Decoration; sixteen pages from Poems of Heinrich Heine, illustrated by Kredel, published 1957; Of rogues & roguery, a prospectus from The Gravesend Press, ca. 1950s; undated Christmas card printed for Fritz and Annie Kredel, with hand-colored botanical woodcut; undated pen-and-ink drawings on light card, three figures of women on one side in period dress, colored, young woman emerging from car on other side, with pencil note, Functionalism!

Fritz Kredel was a renowned and versatile illustrator and artist. He found early success in Germany, culminating in a Gold medal for Book Illustration at the 1937 Paris World Exposition. His success continued in the United States, where he illustrated a book written by Eleanor Roosevelt, and later was commissioned to design a woodcut of the Presidential Seal for John F.
