Family papers, 1891, 2001, and undated, include: 18 black and white photographs and postcards of family, friends, school children, and businesses in Snover (Mich.), 1891,1920; two gas ration stamp sheets, two ration cards, and a ration packet of Russell Ragan, Flushing (Mich.), 1945; a Scrapbook, 1925 compiled by Sophia Ragan for her son, Russell, then four-years-old, who spent four months in Grace Hospital, Flushing (Mich.) with a broken right leg; and three letters written to Florence (Mrs. W.J. Walker) of Snover (Mich.), 1893 and 1898, by relatives reporting the deaths of family members. The scrapbooks consists mostly of greeting cards, newspaper clippings about family and friends, a signed Will Rogers photograph, photographs, postcards, and miscellaneous. Also included is a photograph album of the Children's Hospital of Michigan, 1936,1938, [36 pp.] of black and white photographs measuring 4x6 inches or 3.5x2.5 inches on black pages. The photographs document the hospital building, greenhouse, a bus, black and white children patients, and white nurses. The children are shown in groups, standing, sitting, in beds or wheelchairs, with walking supports, wearing casts and bandages, playing with toys, and often being held by nurses. One nurse holds a body brace. The front cover is leather and has "Snapshots" and "Lexington[,] Mich. on Lake Huron" stamped into it as well as two small water scenes, one with a fisherman in a boat. Written on the cover in black ink is "Children's Hospital, Farmington, Michigan". On the inside front cover, written in red ink, is "Children's Hospital 1936- Farmington, Mi." Most of the photographs of people, except one of Betty Ragan, are unidentified. One photograph of another nuse is dated 1938. A photograph of the hospital is also identified. Except for some pages being loose from the spine, the album is in excellent condition. The back cover is plain cardboard. Eight pages in the album are blank. A late addition to the collection is Sabbatical 1974 : a comparative study (113 pp.), by Dr. Ragan, about Central Michigan University's new Health Services facility in Foust Hall.

Betty married Russell Ragan, M.D. (b. 1921- ), the son of Sophia E. (Walker) and Mylo Ragan. Mylo was born on Oct. 11, 1893 and attended Marlette High School and Ferris Institute (now Ferris State University). He was a cashier at People's State Bank, and a member of the Masons.
