Comprises the typescript draft of Bennett's introduction for the Faber version of the dramatisation of Kenneth Grahame's 'The Wind in the Willows', produced at the National Theatre in December 1991. The draft contains many revisions of the text in autograph manuscript. On the first folio, in red ink, Bennett has added a caricature of his head and face.

Kenneth Grahame worked for the Bank of England and wrote articles and stories for journals, mostly about children. Collections of stories appeared in The golden age, published in 1895, and in Dream days, published in 1898. His best known work was The wind in the willows, published in 1908.
