Queer Resource Center records, 1972-1992.

The collection consists of flyers, annual files, program files, minutes and financial reports, and correspondence of the various organizations through 1992. In addition there are files documenting the effort to establish academic courses in what gay and lesbian studies; these consist of correspondence, planning documents, proposals, and newsletters, as well as some syllabi and course materials. The collection includes the records of earlier student groups: the Gay Student Union, Gay Peoples Union, Gay and Lesbian Union, Gay Lesbian Bisexual Alliance and the Multicultural Bisexual Gay Lesbian Alliance. There is also a small collection of artifacts, mainly t-shirts. The collection also includes records of the Multicultural Bisexual Lesbian Gay Studies Program which promoted the establishment of lesbian and gay studies courses and academic programs, with correspondence, faculty advisor files, planning documents, minutes, proposals, newsletters, course materials and some syllabi.

The Students for Gay Power was established at the University of California, Berkeley in 1969. In 1972 the group changed its name to Gay Students Union; in 1976 it became the Gay Peoples Union; in 1981 it became the Gay and Lesbian Union; and in 1984 it became the Gay Lesbian Bisexual Alliance.
