[British war medal]. 1919-1920.

This medal has portrait of George V on obverse, a male figure on horseback trampling a shield of the Central Powers on the reverse. The medal was approved by King George V in 1919 for service in any of the three armed services, any Commonwealth or Imperial formation or in certain voluntary organizations from August 5, 1914 through November 11, 1918. Eligibility for the award was later extended to cover the years 1919-1920.
