The collection contains a letter from Jefferson to Martha Jefferson, l'Abbaye royale de Panthemont, 1787 April 27, on hearing that she was unwell and noting that Maria is is England. Also an unsigned note, ca. 1787, Martha Jefferson to St. John de Crèvecoeur. Also a letter from Elizabeth Trist, New Orleans, to Jefferson, 1804 November 26, giving news of friends and attempts to settle affairs at Iberville and Natchez plantations. Also a letter, Ellen Wayles Randolph to Nicholas P. Trist, 1822 June 16. Also a letter, Thomas Jefferson to Nicholas P. Trist, 1824 April 13, reporting that the legislature approved funds for the University and that the Visitors want to open in February 1825.
