M. W. Blane was a resident of Murray, Kentucky and was born in Stewart County, Tennessee on May 7, 1901. He lived in Akron, Ohio and worked for the Goodyear plant for seven years. He later relocated to Sanger, Texas to harvest wheat. He returned to Model, Tennessee, where he remained until his farm was purchased by the Tennessee Valley Authority.
