Historic American Buildings collection of Fox Theatre photographs, 1991-1992 [graphic]. 1991-1992.

The collection contains images documenting the historic Fox Theatre, built in 1929 and later renamed the Music Hall Theatre, in Seattle, Wash. The photographs, taken shortly before the building was demolished in 1992, were commissioned for the government publication Historic American Buildings Survey: Fox Theatre (Music Hall Theatre) (HABS No. WA-197), also included in this collection.

The Hampton Lillibridge House was built in 1796 by Rhode Island native, Hampton Lillibridge in the traditional New England style. The house was originally located at 310 East Bryan Street in Savannah, Georgia, but when it was purchased by antiques dealer, Jim Williams, in 1963 it was moved to its present location at 507 East Julian Street in Savannah, where it is known as one of Savannah's most haunted homes. John Stamets received his B.A. in Photography from Yale University, where he studied with documentary photographer Walker Evans. Stamets is a Lecturer in Photography in the School of Architecture at the University of Washington. He specializes in photographing historic buildings using the HABS/HAER standards.
