Manuscript copy of a report made by Joseph Harrison, collector of the Port of Boston and Benjamin Hallowell, the comptroller to the newly constituted American Board of Commissioners of the Customs in Great Britain, 30 April 1768. The report details the state of the port and district, gives a description of the area, discusses the ports trade and navigation, and covers the history of the customs house administration. The report also includes two tables that show the revenue establishment along the colonial coast in 1716 and fees collected by customs officers of Boston, 29 Sept. 1764. Manuscript copy created ca. 1800's; original report located in Public Records Office in Great Britain.
