General description of the collection: The Robert C. Kelchner photograph collection consists of a small grouping of photos copied from the originals in the late Robert C. Kelchner's collection. Photos of both regular Army and National Guard units include: Troop H, 6th U.S. Cavalry Regiment (1896); 7th U.S. Cavalry Regiment (1888-1906); officers of the 10th U.S. Cavalry Regiment (1938); and National Guard units from Massachusetts, New York, and Pennsylvania are found.

Jonas Heil served as a private in the National Guard of Pennsylvania in Captain John F. Schoener's Company C, 7th Regiment; he enrolled on 13 November 1875, and was discharged on 9 May 1876 at Mahanoy City, Pa., for physical disability.
