George Harrar (1906-1982), generally regarded as the father of the "Green Revolution," was a plant pathologist who formed and headed the Rockefeller Foundation's pioneering agricultural assistance proghram in Mexico from 1942 to 1952. Ellwood S. Harrar served as a Professor of Wood Technology at Duke University from 1936 to 1974, and as Dean of the Duke University School of Forestry from 1957 to 1967.
