Comprises the third part of the original Historia general de España and is organized by reigns of kings, in three books: Book I (ff. 306r-350r): "Reyes naturales de Leon", begins in the year 718 with an account of Don Pelayo, King of Asturias, successor to the Visigothic monarchy, and continues to the year 1037; Book II (ff. 350v-595v): "Reyes naturales de Castilla," begins in the year 760 and continues to 1516 (to Ferdinand V and Isabella I, the Catholic Kings), and includes a history of the Castilian hero, El Cid Campeador (Rodrigo Diáz de Vivar), which closely follows the plot and details of the Poema de mío Cid (ff. 368r-369v, 372v-373v); Book III (ff. 596r-701v): "Reyes naturales de Navarra," chronicles the history of the Kings of Navarra beginning in the year 716 with Don García Ximenez and continuing to the year 1507 with the reign of Don Juan de Labrit. Text also contains three separately titled introductory sections (ff. 300r-305v). Frequently cites Esteban de Garibay (presumably his Compendio historial, 1571, cf. Palau 100101).
