Handwritten record of resolutions of the Logan, Utah, City Council from May 15, 1889 to Dec. 1906. Includes resolutions to authorize the mayor and recorder to issue deeds, granting a franchise to Western Union Telegraph Company and the Union Pacific Railway Company, appropriations from the treasury to pay small debts and bills of the city for things such as repairs, authorized municipal taxes and city improvements, designated property lots and sidewalks, and contracts for electricity with Gessel Brick Company.

The bark Golden Gate and clipper ship Nightingale were both involved in the Western Union Telegraph Expedition to British Columbia, Alaska and Russia to survey areas where the Western Union Telegraph Company planned to construct a telegraph line linking America and Europe.
