The notebook contains gravestone inscriptions from many local community, church and family cemeteries in Albemarle County, Va., and a few scattered ones in Orange, Louisa and Fauquier counties. Loose material in the notebook includes correspondence regarding a D.A.R. gravemarker for Revolutionary war soldier Isaac Hardin; and notes on some stolen gravestones of the Sowell family. There is also a speech given to the Albemarle County Historical Society and the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors on behalf of the D.A.R. describing old homes she knew in her childhood including Monticello, Fauncey Hill, Colle, Tufton, Auburn Hill, and advocating the renaming of the road from Milton to Monticello for Jack Jouett.
