Salesman's Sample Case, 1931.

Small wooden suitcase (02-002) with leather handle that held all materials required by the salesman to complete a sale. Includes fabric samples mounted on boards that were kept in the bottom compartments, as well as paper items and a tape measure that were stored in a slot on the lid. Paper items include ephemera such as advice to salesmen, including prices; book of styles for 1931; order and receipt forms; envelopes; and Pioneer Tailoring Co. advertising cards. Acquired as part of the John W. Hartman Center for Sales, Advertising & Marketing History.
