The collection consists of two items: handwritten letter to Dear sir (Thomas de Quincey?), 19 Jan. 1814, to accompany a volume of Persian tales purchased by Southey as a gift; handwritten poem A soldier's epitaph, addressed to Alaric A. Watts, postmarked 23 Aug. 1826, describing the difficulties of a soldier's life.
