This collection contains the official records of the 1992 commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Columbian voyages. The collection includes correspondence, administrative files, press kits and publicity, newsletters, magazines, news clippings, articles, audio and video materials, ephemera, exhibition catalogues, teaching materials, memorabilia, etc. The archive is inclusive, documenting Quincentennial activities in the United States, Latin America and Europe. Series within the collection are: Spain '92 (within this series are records of the Christopher Columbus Quincentennial Jubilee Commission and materials relating to the Sociedad Estatal Quinto Centenario); Malcolm Richardson (which also contains records of the Christopher Columbus Quincentenary Jubilee Commission and the National Endowment for the Humanities); Helen Nader; Christopher Dodge; Sanford Berman; Latin American Institute (including the records of Encuentros and Encounters); National Commissions and Quincentennial Organizations; Native American Perspectives; John Alexander Williams; Press Clippings; Quincentennial Ephemera, Documents, and Memorabilia.
