The College of Business Videotapes consist of productions by the Austin Family Business Program, recordings of special events and award ceremonies, and a student recruitment production about the College of Business. Eleven of the videotapes are productions by Austin Family Business Program. These include two 1996 family business learning kits for Women in Family Business and Couples in Business Together, with special guest host Dr. Joyce Brothers; Sustaining Values in Business Families (1998) featuring the Starker Family of Corvallis, Oregon (FV P194:2); and three presentations from the 1998 Adapting to Change Satellite Workshop: When Families and Business are Linked. The workshop presentations include Coping Strategies for Families Where Business Takes Dad Away from Home by Anisa Zvonkovic; The Business of Family Business by Patricia Frishkoff; and Key Issues for Families to Discuss about Business by Clark Hammond. The Austin Family Business Program productions include a 2000 recording of the Family Business Education Theater addressing interpersonal communication, death in the family, and feelings of alienation. Two recordings from the Family Business 2000 Conference are part of the collection: Since 1369: A Business with Two Souls -- Torrini in Florence, Italy featuring Franco and Fabrizio Torrini and Policies that Distinguish the Truly Professional Family Business by John L. Ward. Two videotapes produced in 2001 by the Austin Family Business Program in conjunction with the Forestry Media Center explain the provisions of the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconcilation Act of 2001 as they affect businesses and business owners ( Tax Cuts on the Web): The New Tax Law and You -- The Family Business Owner and Impact of the New Tax Law on the Economy (1182.1 V-T) and Critical Decisions for Farmers and Forest Landowners (1182.2 V-T) The collection includes three recordings of special events and award presentations. These include the Beta Gamma Sigma Medallion for Entrepreneruship Award Ceremony honoring Ken Austin and Joan Austin held in Salem, Oregon, on May 29, 1997 (FV P194:1). Speakers at the ceremony included OSU President Paul G. Risser; Donald F. Parker, Dean of the College of Business; Randy R. Lund, President of the OSU Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma; Patricia A. Frishkoff, Director of the Austin Family Program; and Ken and Joan Austin. A recording of the 2000 Oregon Entrepreneur Form Awards Dinner features Al Reser receiving the Entrepreneur of the Year award. The announcement of the establishment of the A.E. Coleman Chair in Family Business is also available as part of the collection (FV P194:4) A 1994 videotape production (FV P194:3) for recruiting students to Oregon State University includes a general segment about OSU and a second segment specifically about the College of Business featuring a business student, Angeline Ngo. The video includes footage of the OSU campus, classrooms and laboratories, students and faculty, and student activities. The College of Business segment includes footage of classrooms, computer laboratories, students, and faculty. It was produced by University Relations. All of the videotapes are VHS format. Only four of the videotapes have been assigned individual item numbers (FV P194:1 - FV P194:4); the remainder are unnumbered.
