Frank Richard Stockton letters and manuscript, 1894-1923.

The collection contains three letters from Stockton to: Mr. Black, 15 Oct. 1894, permitting use of an extract from a Stockton letter in Black's work; Mrs. W.W. Coolidge, 4 July, 1899, politely resisting a request to lecture before her Club; and Mr. Francis W. Halsey, 1 Sept. 1900, correcting an impression left by Halsey's recent review that Stockton's current story was set in present day, and was not fanciful. Also, ms. copy of Pomona's daughter, written in various hands, 62 p., stored in portfolio (27 cm.); and ten letters from various parties to W.L. Werner, ca. 1923, containing information or anecdotes about Frank Stockton for a biography Werner was preparing.
