Series 5, folder 10 of record group 71-12 and folder 1 of 23/4/6 consists of maps by Alfred C. Lane. The first map is a "map showing geological formations and contours of rock surface of the southern peninsula of Michigan", contours by Frank Leverett (1905- annual report, 1907, plate VI, U.S. Geol. Survey water supply paper #183, pl II). The second map is of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan (1889). This is a printed b&w outline map by Rand, McNally & Co. (1889), printed over in red by the Michigan Geological Survey (1893), to show geological notes compiled by Lane, after the maps and writings of A. Winchell and C. Rominger and the records of borings made at the townships underlined.
