General description of the collection: The Thomas T. Handy photograph collection comprises photos covering only a few short years in his military career. Although no dates can be found on any of the three photo albums, they obviously date within Handy's tenure as commander-in-chief of the European Command when he was full general. The three albums contain photos concerning a visit of and review for General Handy to the station of the 26th Infantry Regiment in Germany; the Theater Signal School and the European Command Signal School, both at Ansbach, Germany. Of special interest are the uniforms and headgear of the large 26th Infantry Regiment Band and Drum Corps, the K-9 platoon and the various shops / class rooms of the signal schools.
