Autograph letter signed : Broadstairs, to Henry Austin, 1851 Sept. 8.

Thanking him for his letter, which has "considerably allayed the anguish of [Dickens'] soul" (see MA 113.61), and discussing plans to meet with Austin at Tavistock House with the builders and workmen. Mentioning that "a steamer [the Apollo] was lost on the Goodwin" the previous day, and that men are "bringing in no end of dead cattle and sheep."
