Ian Hamilton Finlay manuscripts, 1958-1963.

Manuscripts of 14 unpublished poems, the manuscript of "Glasgow Beasts" (1961), 32 of the 35 poems printed in "The Dancers Inherit the Party" (1969) with an additional "Orkney lyric" not included in the printed book, and one short story, "The Boy and the guess" from "The Sea-bed" (ca. 1958). The poems are all from his "concrete poetry" period.

Ian Hamilton Finlay (1925-2006) was a Scottish poet, writer, artist and gardener. Much of his work on paper was issued through his own Wild Hawthorne Press, which he founded in 1964.
