Papers relating to Jess Denious's participation in the activities of the Republican Party, his service as Kansas state senator (1933-41), his terms as lieutenant governor (1943-47), his membership on the Commission for the Reorganization of State Government (1950), his work as newspaper publisher, and his activities in civic affairs. Many of the letters are from fellow newspaper editors and publishers. There are also letters and telegrams from several politicians of that time period. Includes papers on family matters.
