Goodall, of Sanford, Me., worked in his father's woolen mill as a boy and then established the Mousam River Mills in Sanford. He organized the mohair plush business under the name Goodall Brothers, which was incorporated in 1883 as Goodall Manufacturing Co. He united Mousam and Goodall in 1885 under the name Sanford Mills and then organized the Goodall Worsted Company. He served as a United States Congressman from 1916-1920.
