Interview with Laura M. Bragg, a native of Massachusetts who relocated to Charleston, S.C., in 1909 to direct the Charleston Museum; discusses efforts to secure the vote for women, and other aspects of suffrage activitism. Bragg recalls a trip to Washington, D.C., during which Sue Frost and Anita Pollitzer burned speeches of Woodrow Wilson in front of the White House, and their disappointment at the indifference of the police, who did not arrest them. Incomplete transcription of interview ends abruptly on page 10; consult tape, T-4, for more information.

Charleston, S.C. museum director, librarian, and cultural leader. Born in Epping, N.J., she became director of the Charleston Museum in 1920, leaving in 1931 to serve as director of the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, Mass. After retiring from the Berkshire Museum in 1939 she returned to live in Charleston.
