Forty years a forester : photocopy of typescript, ca. 1953.

Autobiography (174 p.) in which Koch focuses on his life in Montana and his forty-year career with the U.S. Forest Service. After describing his early life and education at Yale, he writes of his work as one of Gifford Pinchot's "young men" in 1903, mapping and reporting on available forest land in public ownership. This led to several jobs with the Forest Service, including chief of the Division of Timber Management, 1921-1943. Also includes an article by Koch entitled "Big Game in Montana from Early Historical Records," reprinted from the Journal of Wildlife Management, Oct. 1941, and a photocopy of an article reprinted from the Journal of Forestry, Feb. 1949., about Koch.
