Records include: Military correspondence (1884-1899), mostly addressed to Charles F. Beebe, pertaining to general and special orders, officers' appointments and resignations, supplies and training facilities, the Astoria fishermen's strike (1896), and Beebe's appointment as brigadier general of the Oregon National Guard; general and special orders (1888-1895); regimental court of discipline records (1888, 1893), including notices, summonses, proceedings, and findings; and bills, receipts, and vouchers (1888-1896). Also contains "Oregon's Official Roster" (1898), compiled by Amelie de F. Smith, listing the officers and volunteers of the Second Oregon Volunteer Infantry during the Spanish-American War. Correspondents include William R. Ellis, Thomas H. Tongue, George W. McBride, and John H. Mitchell.
