Collection consists of a bound carbon copy of a transcription of a memorandum written by Rev. John P. Williamson. The location of the original, transcribed in 1927 by Alfred N. Coe, is unknown. The memorandum is a personal recollection of church work he performed between 1860 and 1909, including baptisms, meetings, and deaths at the churches in which he worked. Of particular interest is an account of the Outbreak of 1862 and its impact on those Dakotas which survived. Included is a copy of Williamson's 1869 English-Dakota Dictionary entitled "Dakota & English: Ieska Wowapi.

The Transylvania Presbytery was organized by appointment of the synods of New York and Philadelphia. The Synod of New York made part of the Presbytery of Abingdon into the Transylvania Presbytery, which encompassed the district of Kentucky and the settlements on the Cumberland River.
