[Letter] 1877 Feb. 18, Aiken S.C. to [John A.] Broadus / C.M. Williams. 1877.

William William's son [?] writes of his father's "increased sickness. He has been confined to his bed for two weeks with inflammation of the stomach and bowels, and is worse now than ever before. The doctor told us today that he is in a very critical condition and a change for the worse may take place at any moment; and unless there is a change for the better very soon, he can't last but a few days longer." Williams desired to be buried in Greenville, but feared the expense would be too great. [Williams died of consumption, Feb. 20, 1877 at Aiken, S.C., and was buried in Greenville, where he served as professor.]
