[Correspondence]. 1828-1853.

The collection includes letters from dry goods commission agents, cotton brokers and merchants from Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Hartford, New Orleans and Mobile. They cover orders, prices, complaints, descriptions of market conditions, especially in the West, and financial credit arrangements. Statements of accounts current and sketches of sales are included for many firms. There are numerous invoices and information about day-to-day aspects of running the mills. Much of the correspondence deals with the production of print cloth. Correspondence is addressed to Borden & Bowen, Holder Borden, C.H. Dabney, Wilber Kelly, George Kilburn, William Cook, R.H. Ives, and Goddard Brothers, among others.
