Collection consists of research files of art historian and Johns Hopkins professor of art, Christopher Gray. The bulk of the papers relate to Dr. Gray's research for his published volumes on Gauguin and Guillaumin. Collection consists of research files (1937-1970) of art historian and writer, Christopher Gray. The bulk of the collection consists of research material for Gray's major works on Gauguin and Guillaumin. Within the collection are approximatedly 1000 photographs collected by Gray and used to catalog the works of the artists in both volumes. A two-drawer card file containing additional notes and references to Guillaumin is the final item in the collection.
