[Letter] 1859 Aug 29, Glenmore to [John Albert Broadus] / Jno. L. Johnson. 1859.

Wrote that he and [C.H.] Toy had been discussing the advantages of his going directly to Greenville [where the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary was just being formed] over returning to the University of Virginia. "Crawford [Toy] seems to think I would be much better qualified for my profession by pursuing the former course, and I mayself am willing to admit it on the supposition that I think myself able to go out on the F.U. [Furman University?] work, for this he agrees would do me but little good ... It is much easier for Toy to advise me to such a course than it would be to follow it himself, I think, were he in my fix."
