[Letter 1858 Oct.?] to [John Albert Broadus] / W.F. Broaddus. 1858.

Sent John a check for $100.00 to pay the fees for his wards Richard and Robert Semple to attend the University of Virginia. Wrote of his difficulties in finding a supply preacher for the church he pastored in Fredericksberg. "My church has granted me leave of absence for a year, provided I supply them with a preacher. I have abandoned the school, and nothing now remains in order to accept the Agency [for the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary], but to get a pastor pro tem."
