Cookbook Collection, 1888-1991, n.d.

This collection contains cookbooks and pamphlets sorted alphabetically into two series: Cookbooks by Company, and Miscellaneous Cookbooks by Subject. The cookbooks in this collection cover a range of timeperiods, topics and styles of cookery. Each decade since the 1880s is represented by cookbooks produced by various companies, food producers, appliance manufacturers, government and extension programs, religious associations, towns, social clubs, and service organizations. While most of the books are American, there are several cookbooks with recipes for international dishes, including some Dutch and German-language cookbooks in the second series. Cookbooks not included in this collection may be found by searching the library catalog. Related materials may also be found in MS 237 Food Pamphlet Collection, MS 380 Wartime Household Guides and Recipe Book Collection, and MS 381 Food and Household Product Advertising Guides and Publications Collection.
