Agreeing to a proposed engagement, and suggesting that they discuss their intended trip into Dorsetshire. Referencing Macready's disastrous American tour when noting that Scribe and Halévy will dine with Dickens the following Tuesday and asking whether Macready feels enough restored to his "public position and character, as to be able to pay them the compliment of meeting them." Mentioning his work on David Copperfield and at Household Words.
