Lloyd Robert Zumwalt (1914-1998) was a nuclear chemist from Richmond, California, who worked for the Manhattan Project during World War II. After working for the General Atomic Division of General Dynamics Corporation in San Diego, California, he was a professor of nuclear engineering at North Carolina State University from 1967 to 1980.
