Carte de visite of Thomas C. Meatyard. Meatyard served on Brigadier Genenral N.B. Buford's staff. A resident of Shipman, Illinois, Meatyard enlisted as a First Lieutenant on August 10, 1861. The photograph is part of a group of images collected by Colonel John G. Hudson, First Iowa Infantry, African Descent, of federal soldiers and officers stationed at Helena, Phillips County, Arkansas, 1863-1864.
