[Wisconsin archaeological atlas] [microform]. 1944.

Charles Brown was an active field worker, examining and mapping archaeological sites throughout Wisconsin. In 1929 he transferred the archaeological data to atlas form and updated it in 1944. The base map for the Wisconsin archaeological atlas is a 1924 plat atlas of Wisconsin published by the W.W. Hixson Company. Throughout the atlas archaeological sites are indicated by a variety of symbols hand-drawn in ink (red ink in the original manuscript). The arrangement of the atlas is alphabetical by county. The atlas includes an overall map of each Wisconsin county, followed by a series of larger scale, individual township maps.
