Terri Shaw graduated from Antioch College in Ohio and worked for the Buffalo (N.Y.) Courier-Express before spending the summer of 1964 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. After her experiences during Freedom Summer, she completed a master's degree in journalism and worked as a journalist and translator.
